How it all began for a woman with a dream
The Taylor Hicks Times is just the tip of where it all began for me. It actually all began watching some gray haired dude make funny moves and act like he was having a seizure on stage in front of millions. On American Idol. I found myself very curious with the rocking jives of a man named Taylor Hicks. He was different, and very brave. Each week he would put on a great show, only to be hammered by the likes of Simon Cowell. Okay let's be fair here. Unless your in a mini skirt showing what you have. Your always criticized by Simon.
I will admit. At first I looked at Taylor on the tube and said "Oh My what the hell is this guy doing?" I would laugh a bit then one day after seeing him week after week. I knew exactly what he was doing and so did he.
He was not only singing his heart out. He was singing songs I could relate to. Songs that go back to when music was in fact music. Not just noise you blare through your speakers so loud you can't even understand the lyrics'. This guy named Taylor was reaching out to me and many others out there. Touching us not only with his entertaining ways. Yet also touching our hearts with music long since forgotten by the new age. Songs Like, Levon by Elton John. And In the ghetto" By Elvis Presley.
Taylor was molding himself to become in tune with the audience. He was loving on music in a way that I had not seen since my childhood.
Taylor is refreshing and inspiring. To all those who have a dream and are trying to find the courage to live it. Even if others mock you, or think your just "To Different". For me it was a victory not only for Taylor and his fans. However for the music industry as a whole when Taylor won American Idol in 2006. He is keeping the jive alive and caring on the music that fulfill our hearts the way music should be sung. The way it used to be sung.
After Taylor's win. It seemed as though myself along with many other fans. Wanted more. Sometimes even more was not enough. We soon found out that Taylor had also made two other cd recordings. Before Idol. In Your Time and Under The Radar. Naturally, his fans flocked to hear the tunes of his yesteryear.

So now I am hooked! I started doing internet searches on Taylor. I wanted to hear more...see more.. and most of all do more!.
My first step was joining a few yahoo groups. From there, people started learning my passion was making graphics and web sites. I started making my own Taylor sites. Which I later took down and made much better ones.
Anyway, time was not standing still for me. People were seeing and actually ENJOYING my graphics. I was invited to join a group "which shall remain nameless" (sorry for the nosey at heart.) They were trying to get a gig going for one of Taylor's charities. They wanted me to design some graphics and make there official web site. I was excited. However my excitement turned to disappointment as I made the decision to leave the group. Due to conflicts with the groups owner.
Good news is, the group did well without me... (Major shock there..) (Joking guys)
Then I joined another group where I was much welcomed and made many new friends. I started making web sites for them, then siggys. (ya know those pictures under your name in a forum?) Then animations. Before I knew it, my graphics were taking on a whole new meaning. Everyone was commenting on them and my ego was flying high. Although I loved the group and the friends I made. The group members started going there own ways. Real life was becoming more of a reality and things just took on a new role. That group closed. However we still remain friends.
Now mind you, I started visiting Taylor Hicks forums. There were many out there. However. I felt invisible to the members in the more popular boards.
So I decided it was now time for me to spread my wings and fly on my own. I created what is now known as The Real Deal Forum This is a Taylor Hicks forum with a bunch of other goodies thrown in. If it sounds good, and fits the theme. I threw it in.. I have done all the designing myself. I didn't think it would be that much of a hit. Although it is not as well known as some. The folks that go there are great people and we have a lot of fun.
Oh I cannot forget to tell you. I also in my travels. Joined a great yahoo group called Taylor'sWay. The people there are wonderful. I have made many close friends there. I also made the logo for there site.

Although I have been to many Taylor sites, and made many friends. My heart will always hold true to my own forum. The Real Deal.
Now for you Taylor fans this will not come as a new tidbit. However to those who do not know.
Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard dropped from J Records?
To most fans, this is not a shock. Since American Idol did nothing to support Taylor and his win. His P.R. Rep was a joke to say the least. Taylor was never truly shown to the public as the great musician he really is. Most outsiders just think of him as the American Idol robot. They did not see his music live, or dare buy his cd. To those people they are stuck on the show and dare not look beyond the Man and his true love of music.
Now with Taylor a free man. I am hoping that he will be able to show others his true talents. I am also hoping he will show more of himself to the television audiences. What I mean by "Himself" is just that. More of the real Taylor Hicks.
Now knowing he is on his own, I realized it is also up to us fans to show the world who Taylor Hicks really is. That is when I came up with the idea for yet another website. The Taylor Hicks Times. I am in my own way. Trying to help promote Taylor any way I can.

For the past twelve years now, I have enjoyed creating my art of graphics and web design. I am no professional at this. I just have a love for it. Now through my love for Taylor they both came to meet. Now I enjoy not only Making graphics and web sites. Yet also making them for and about My Idol Taylor Hicks. Making friends along the way was a huge bonus.
So Taylor gave me my dream of being able to show the world what I can do and having them tell me I do it well. Now I am here to try and help my idol keep his dream of showing the world what real music is all about!
